Hum Nutrition has introduced its latest nutritional supplement called Private Party to help support vaginal microbiome health and prevent urinary tract infections (UTI). The product is formulated with three carefully selected Lactobacillus probiotic strains and cranberry proanthocyanidins (PACs) standardized to clinically proven amounts, offering consumers a clean, convenient oral capsule for daily consumption. Through this launch, the US-based company is striving to normalize the conversation around women’s anatomy and female reproductive health by putting the word “vagina” in the foreground of the label.

“Vaginal health is often a topic that is not discussed and yet so many women are impacted by an imbalance in their vaginal microbiome. We hope to ignite conversations around vaginal health,” says HUM’s Director of Education and Registered Dietician Sarah Greenfield. This comes as 65 percent of women revealed they are uncomfortable saying the words “vagina” and “vulva” in a Hum-issued study of 1,000 people in the US.

The company highlights the need for open, taboo-free discussions on vaginal health in society, given UTIs occur mainly in women and most commonly affect the bladder and urethra. The US Department of Health and Human Sciences underscores that out of 100 women, 50 will have a UTI at some point in their life.

Boosting its health halo, Private Party supplements are vegan, vegetarian, non-GMO, gluten-free and sustainably sourced. By taking one capsule daily, with or without meals, consumers can expect results within four to six weeks.

Scientific studies have shown that Private Party’s 36 mg of cranberry PACs is proven to be effective in protecting the urinary tract. Previous research has shown that PACs limit the ability of pathogenic bacteria to adhere to the urinary tract, thereby supporting urinary tract health while improving gut health. Another study from last October also found that cranberry PACs may mitigate E. coli activity in the urinary and intestinal tracts.

The vaginal probiotic strains with 10 billion organisms were also carefully selected to balance yeast and maintain a healthy, low vaginal pH. “Compelled by strong clinical research, we felt obliged to create a formula that positively impacts vaginal bacterial balance and urinary tract health,” Greenfield concludes.
